James Welch: The Lighthouse Keeper of Link Building
The Link Building Lighthouse Keeper
An SEO was sailing across the sea, when he came across a lighthouse. In that lighthouse lived the best link builder in the world.
“What’s it like, link building?” said the SEO.
“Well, on Mondays, I cut the grass outside and then I write some really good content.” said the Link Builder.
“I don’t like writing content.” said the SEO.
“Well you might like Tuesdays then. I polish all of the banisters and then in the afternoon, I prospect for lots of links, finding the very best, most trusted websites to get links from for the content that I wrote on Monday.” said the Link Builder.
“I don’t like spending time searching for good link opportunities, it’s boring and hard work.” said the SEO.
“Well, you might like Wednesdays then. I clean the lighthouse light and then in the afternoon, I announce the amazing content to the great list of websites that I had prospected the day before.” said the Link Builder.
“I don’t like emailing people about links.” said the SEO.
“Hang on” said the Link Builder, “You don’t like writing content, you don’t like spending time prospecting for links, and you don’t like announcing your content to the right people? Are you just buying directory links?”
“Yes.” said the SEO.
“Well, you won’t like Thursdays then.” said the Link Builder.
