The Similarity between Links and Twitter Followers – With Infographics
From some of the reading I’ve been doing lately, it seems to me that there is not a lot of difference between a successful link building strategy and a successful Twitter strategy.
After all, it’s all about connecting with the right person or company (whether that be a link, a follow or a retweet). The only really difference is the immediacy of Twitter, as it is often a lot quicker to attract a follower than it is to acquire a link.
This similarity seems to rest on the power of networks and connecting with the right members of that network. By connecting with someone high enough up the chain you ensure that your message/brand/website gets enough exposure to attract the right sort of site visitors. This has value in and of itself but it also has value to Google.
Look at the infographics below which corroborates my observation, in particular the Twitter graphic and the link network diagram right at the bottom of the page. Any feedback or comments would be appreciated.
